That was a pretty good article. It’s rare for journalists to give any kind of historical background to contemporary issues. The comments section was depressingly polarized though.

Well, I linked to a cut and paste of the article at slashdot, mostly because I abhor the mandatory registration at the NYT. If you haven’t spent a lot of time at /. I can understand you being depressed by the discussion.
