I’ve got a lot of drafts sitting here that will never become full peices, so here’s some early spring cleaning:

James Fallows writes an amazing article in the Atlantic covering the possibility of a US invasion of Iran when it becomes clear that a nuke is inevitable (Aren’t we already past that? -Ed.). The article is noteworthy because rather then just navel and document gazing the Atlantic actually assembled a panel of former administration types and experts and conducted a Pentagon style war game. The conclusion: there is no military option, and we had best figure out how we are going to deal with a nuclear armed Iran, it’s a forgone conclusion, and the post-war situation in Iraq has made it much harder to deal with Iran.

TNR points out that the Iran situation has exposed fissures in the neoconservative “movement”. Many neocon type folks who all agreed on Iraq are at odds over Iran.

Andrew Sullivan chimed in on Iraq, with a lot of reasons to be hopeful about the potential for the early stages of an Afganistan or Ukrainian style cultural shift in the wake of Iraq elections. I’m in.

Belmont Club notes a number of thought currents along the same lines. Basically saying to expect 2 weeks of ultra-violence before the Iraqi election that will prove fultile for the Islamofascists as a political event occurs that begins the unstoppable move of the core of the middle east towards a brighter future. Get in.

Roger L Simon had a nice post describing having everyones favorite Iraqi democrats Omar and Mohammed from Iraq the Model stopping by for dinner.

Finally TNR took a look at the best films of 2004 that won’t make critics lists, highlighting the Saddest Music in the World, one of my favorites for certain. Fire up your zip list.
