Let’s make this election… interesting

I’m planning on heading over to a friend’s house to watch the election coverage and down some quality local beer. I have to admit that for all the reading and thinking I’ve put into the issues I’m, at this point, not terribly inspired by either candidate, and mildly blasé about who will win. I think either man will do an ok job, not wreck things too bad in any particular area, perhaps make progress in some important areas, but neither will deliver great leadership. I’m leaning towards Kerry, pretty much for all the reasons listed in the Economist endorsement blogged below, but I can imagine a Bush presidency.

I won’t go into too much detail at this point. The purpose of this post is to point out that I’ve decided gambling would take this election to the next level. I picked up a couple of contracts on a Kerry victory at wsex. They seem like a steal at $47; I’m predicting a decisive victory for Kerry and have been for several months but the Meta-analysis of state pools web site gave me the confidence and idea to make gambling part of my election night fun. Check out the election night brochure with all the information you need to follow the action.
