Jon Stewart on C-SPAN
Everyone is so hot over seeing Jon Stewart’s appearance on Crossfire, but I enjoyed this C-SPAN appearance much more. His acerbic wit really shines through in the early morning setting.
I especially liked it when Jon de-mystified the scarrry Foxnews, actually voicing some respect for the network in openly presenting a viewpoint, and delivered some thoughtful ideas on his proposal for a reality-based news network. I also enjoyed the fact that he gave some props to Bill O’Reilly for his basically coherent viewpoint while slamming Sean Hannity for being the real dick of the network, which I think is pretty on the mark. Jon further emboldened his moderate credentials by mocking and appearing tired with the partisans in the crowd.
One of the audience members ended the show with a call for McCain/Stewart ‘08–amen to that!
