Project management and CRM software
I’m looking for some decent and pretty simple web-based project management software. There is no end of projects claiming to be the solution I need, varying from the overly complex, to the designed by a KDE fanboy grossness.
One project that does look fairly nice is NetOffice. It’s got a stripped down set of features, doesn’t try to replace your email client and address book with woefully inadequate web versions, and doesn’t hurt the eyes. It seems like development has slowed down on it, which is too bad, because if you added a straightforward file uploader, and iCalendar exporting, it would be a pretty competent project.
I also ran into the hot new CRM package SugarCRM, which is SF.net’s project of the month. This is not a bad little CRM package, and is certainly much nicer looking than Anteil which seems to be back from the dead. After playing around with the demo I still couldn’t figure out if I could get the most basic functionality I’ve been looking for in a CRM package: the ability to automatically schedule follow-ups for customers at pre-determined intervals.
